Clinicial Mental Health Counseling

Position Summary: 

The Mental Health Clinician with Ash & Birch provides professional counseling services to individuals, couples, families and/or groups experiencing various mental health and/or emotional challenges. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and promoting the well-being of clients in accordance with ethical standards, best practices and weight-inclusive care.

Working either hybrid or fully in-person (in our Puyallup and/or Olympia office) .

W-2 positions with flexible scheduling.

Compensation

$75,000-$85,000 depending upon licensure status and experience

Responsibilities

Ash & Birch Counseling is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician. This role involves conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnosing disorders using DSM-5 criteria, and collaborating with clients to develop personalized treatment plans. The provider will offer individual, couples, group, and/or family counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, and EFT, all through a trauma-informed lens.

Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting client progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The role also involves engaging in crisis intervention, developing crisis management plans, and advocating for clients' mental health needs. Additionally, the provider will conduct workshops and educational sessions, promote equity, and challenge systemic barriers.

Candidates are expected to participate in ongoing training, supervision, and peer consultation. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to providing holistic and compassionate care to the community.

Required Qualifications:

  •  Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Licensed or license-eligible as a counselor or counselor associate (LMHC, LMHCA, LICSW,   LICSWA, LMFT, LMFTA) in Washington state. 
  • All applicants will be required to pass a background check before employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years of clinical experience in mental health counseling.
  • Experience with specific populations (e.g., children, veterans, trauma survivors)
  • Certification in specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., EMDR, EFT)
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
