Spark Relational Counseling is a Portland-based private pay group practice offering virtual individual & couples counseling to adult residents of Illinois, Washington, and Oregon.
We are currently seeking a fully licensed relational therapist to join our team. The positions will be part-time to start, transitioning to full-time as your client load build. This is a remote, W-2 position.
The Role:
The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in learning & transitioning into a private-pay group practice within the near future (1-2 years) from other sectors (eg: hospital, university, community mental health, etc) or someone who is interested in switching from an insurance-based practice to a private-pay group practice. You will be working from your home office, providing therapeutic support to couples struggling with relationship difficulties, and address the symptoms ( ie: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and loss) or deeper roots of relational trauma. You will also be providing care to cross-cultural individuals, high achievers, and adult children of immigrants on issues around dating, burnout, high-functioning depression, identity, and family issues/belonging.

Responsibilities:
- Building towards & maintaining a caseload of at least 20 hours/ week.
- Timely response to potential inquiries by the next business day. (Preferably within 3 hours)
- Timely documentation within 48 hours; Ability to write reports, create notes and treatment plans independently and within a short time-frame. Maintain client files that are accurate and up to date.
- Ability to work autonomously and remotely, use resources and find information, with adequate administrative and technology skills.
- Ability to use EHR system to schedule appointments and collect session payments.
- Attend regular team meetings and clinical consultations.
- Support the clinical growth of each other & Providing substitute Supervision to pre-licensed clinicians as needed
- Maintain a reasonable retention rate for clients, an average of at least 16 sessions per client after the initial session.
- Patience and willingness to actively grow their practice
This role requires some marketing effort based on your strengths and preferences. As a fully licensed clinician, You will be required to attend weekly staff and business meetings for the first 12 times, then you can choose to attend biweekly or monthly.
Requirements:
Musts:
- Be Fully licensed mental health clinicians (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, PhD/PsyD) in the state of OR or WA.
- Competent in working with couples.
- Have legal authorization to work within the U.S.
- Have great interpersonal skills and emotional intellegence
- Maintain licensure and abide by all laws, rules, and codes of ethics
- Be attachment-based and trauma informed
- Be comfortable with your own difficult emotions.
- Committed to working in a group practice for a longer term (Seeing clients for at least 18 months)
Preferred:
- Dual licensure in WA and OR is strongly preferred
- LMFT/an MFT degree or specialized training in couples work is strongly preferred;
- Having a secure attachment style
- Theoretical orientation including one or more of the following modalities: EFT, AEDP, IFS, Brain Spotting, Experiential work, Somatic experiencing, Mindfulness, Sex Therapy
