About One Heart Wild

One Heart Wild is a nonprofit behavioral health agency and animal sanctuary offering a full range of trauma-informed modalities and a specialty in nature-based and animal/equine-assisted therapy. We serve clients ages 6 through adult, with a strong emphasis on youth, teens, and families. Our waitlist is steady and will support a full caseload.

OHW is located on 10 acres in Silverdale. There are two dedicated counseling cottages for traditional therapy modalities and numerous indoor and outdoor facilities for animal assisted therapy.

The role

We’re hiring a full-time and/or a part time therapist who wants to practice in a non-traditional, relationship-centered environment—where healing happens outdoors, alongside animals, and in a close, collaborative clinical team. 1.0 FTE = 28 billable hours plus 4 hours administrative weekly. Salary range assumes fully licensed, 2 weeks time off. 

Associates in their first year without clinical experience start at $30/hr, and a minimum of weekly paid supervision. As supervision decreases and clinical experience and competency increase, wage increases as well.  

One Heart Wild also accepts clinical interns looking for placement - require 2 consequtive terms if direct client care hours are expected.

You’ll provide: - Outpatient therapy with emphasis on youth– must be comfortable working with youth 12 and under – this will be largest portion of your caseload - in addition to teens and adults. Our primary need is for youth after school and early evenings. Generally evenings end at 7pm.

Individual sessions (and opportunities for groups, based on interest/fit) - Collaborative care alongside a supportive team (often coordinating across multiple family members). Therapy in nature and/or with animals, in a setting many clients prefer over clinical offices.

Client needs commonly include: - Anxiety - Depression - ADHD - Autism / neurodivergence - complex trauma and PTSD

Training & supervision benefits

• Animal/equine-assisted therapy certification provided and includes the CEUs (total value is $5919) - Includes 35+ continuing education credits
• Paid weekly supervision during onboarding for 6 months. Associates receive ongoing weekly supervision to meet their licensure requirements

Schedule expectations

• Evening availability required to meet client need (not every evening, and generally last client at 6 or 7pm).
• An occasional weekend day as needed for clients, groups, or events
• Telehealth is an option for clients who prefer it and to accommodate illness or weather
• Flexibility to set own schedule to meet expected weekly sessions based on FTE
• Warm handoffs from waitlist; structured onboarding and gradual ramp up over first 2-5 weeks. Medical biller support for credentialing process and insurance/client billing.

Compensation & benefits

• Fully licensed LHMC, MFT, LICSW: starting at $55/hour (based on experience and training aligned with our client needs)
• Associates: starting at $30/hour (based on experience and training aligned with our client needs)
• Accrued Paid time off & paid holidays for .5 and 1.0 FTE positions
• Medical insurance stipend for full time staff (28 billable hours, minimum 32 hours total to qualify for full time)

Note: We do not currently offer health insurance.

Qualifications

We welcome: - Associate and fully licensed clinicians

Highly desired: - Experience working with youth (priority)/teens/families - clinical skills working with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Autism/neurodivergence are common client needs – training for this population or willing to get it. Play therapy training or interest in training. Genuine interest in animal-assisted therapy and/or nature-based therapy - Strong collaboration skills and willingness to consult as part of a team

This position is best suited for therapists who live within 30 minutes of Silverdale and don’t require a ferry commute.
